Course on FES based rehabilitation of walking
for subjects with movement disorder
Iasi, Romania, March 19 - 23, 2012

About the Course:
What FES means?
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) is a mean of producing contractions in muscles, paralysed due to central nervous system lesions, by means of electrical stimulation. Applications are found in stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.

Course aims
The course aims to provide the physicians and the physiotherapists with the knowledge about functional electrical stimulation and its application in neuro-rehabilitation. It will have a large practical component with participants first using the devices (MS2, ODFS PACE) on them selves or each other and then with patients volunteers. The courses will be taught by physicians and clinical engineers who have both clinical and research experience.

Certificate of Attendance
Each participant will be provided with a "Certificate of Attendance" signed by the Romanian Physicians Committee (30 credits).
